The project serves as a linking crossroads for the La Brea community of Los Angeles. Left severed by sporadic urban sprawl, this neighborhood is segregated into distinct and disparate residential, commercial, educational, and infrastructural zones. How can detrimental separation between grids and different user groups be resolved? This project serves as a piece of infrastructure, which samples housing types, programs, and activities from the surrounding grid cells, attracting different users into the heart of the site. As a structure which also rises above the primary urban fabric, the un-obstructed path redefines the ground, allowing the community to traverse through different grids. Addressing a stitch for the immediate community, this project plans for broader connections between nodes of other neighborhoods and users. Transcending the disconnection below, the speculation ultimately aims to create a more complete and cohesive circuit of Los Angeles.
